How about how Shannon and Mike met?  Yes!  It is so simply and so lovely.  Shannon and Mike are both talented musicians.  They met while performing (separately) at an open mic night.  They also credit their love to a similar love for the show “Doctor Who”.  (“You had me at Doctor Who.”)

To say this wedding was “off beat” is an understatement.  The couple got ready for their wedding day at Shannon’s parents house.  TOGETHER.  With the ENTIRE bridal party getting ready together as well.  It was such a warm and loved filled atmosphere it could give you chills.  The good kind.

The bridal party alone was a fantastic sight.  Not only could everyone where whatever they desired, Shannon had a male bridesmaid, one of her best friends Jamie –  whom we referred to as a bridesman.

Their ceremony was officiated by there good friend Nick Monti, who’s gorgeous girlfriend you can see above climbing up a rope and giving a jumping high five.  After their ceremony instead of a traditional “introducing” of the couple – Shannon and Mike performed a duet under the rustic pavilion.  For the reception the band the Sheltering Sky filled the grounds with cosmic sounds.

During daylight there was a PLAY PARACHUTE!  Who thinks of this stuff?!  Shannon and Mike did!  The children (many in attendance) and the adults alike LOVED IT.  There was a Taco Bar created by Simply Gourmet out of Shannon’s vision, and they were more than happy to bring it to life!  (The food was almost entirely vegan, which for me (and a large portion of the guests) was so accommodating and SO DELICIOUS!)

The night was filled with music, sparkers, rope climbing, plenty of high fives, and most importantly – an enormous amount of love for life and each other.
