{ A surprise proposal at The Roundhouse in Beacon, NY }

Insert Bryan – A super thoughtful and romantic man madly in love with his girlfriend Dalissa.  He planned a totally surprise and romantic proposal on Dalissa’s birthday at The Roundhouse in Beacon, NY

He contacted me to see if I was available to capture the moment that he was going to propose to her and luckily I was!  I have ALWAYS wanted to witness and document a moment like this.  So full of electricity.  And that is exactly what I got – a beyond magical moment between two people that I will never forget.

I sat at the bar drinking 4 sparkling waters out of nervousness, camera in lap, trying to remember to breathe as I waited for the right moment.  All went according to plan thank you to the staff at The Roundhouse.  I cannot put enough emphasis on how they were so wonderful coordinating with me and making sure the event went as smoothly as possible.  They are beyond amazing.

Congratulations Bryan & Dalissa!  I know you are going to have an absolutely wonderful life together!ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

{Portraits Through a Glass}

A little photography exploration for this snowy New York – Monday morning.  First a self portrait in which I place my lens into a cup and photography portraits through the thick glass on the bottom.  Personally I think it creates lovely chiaroscuro images with a little distortion.  What do you think?2014-02-03_0006 Image2014-02-03_0007Image

{Samantha and Kevin} – {Love Found Abroad}

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

This marriage story is a profound one.

This is Samantha and Kevin.  They met while studying abroad in Italy.  Samantha was a native New Yorker, and Kevin a sweet tall man from Belgium.  When their studies abroad came to an end they managed to keep their relationship strong as ever and kept in contact through skype.

When Samantha was visiting with Kevin – he proposed and they then began the process of planning a wedding AN OCEAN APART.  Let me just say that they did a fantastic job!

They were married on a beautiful fall day at Sea Cliff Manor – Sea Cliff, NY.  Their ceremony took place at sunset overlooking the Long Island Sound, with leaves falling all around them.  The floral arrangements by Black Dahlia Inc were beyond perfect for the season and the setting.  One of my favorite parts of the ceremony you ask?  When Kevin said his vows in English and Samantha said hers in French.  *for each other*  ❤

And who gets the award for the best dancing of the night?  Kevin’s family from Belgium!

The same fabulous couple from the oh-so-romantic rainy 1920’s engagement shoot are now married! ❤  This elegant country club affair was packed with DIY details by the bride and groom.  Everything from the centerpieces, boutonniere’s (made of feathers and twine!!), bouquets, table assignment set up, and table numbers were all hand crafted by the bride and groom.  It was very impressive, and beyond gorgeous.
